We recently learned of the death of longtime MDSC member Billie Lear. Billie began singing with the Chorale back in the days of John Harms and eventually became one of George Emlen's right-hand helpers. She served as treasurer of MDSC for many years and was a founding member of the board when the Chorale became an independent corporation in 1999. She took on many of the day-to-day administrative tasks of the organization and was vital to its continued prosperity. While she had not been active recently, she was nevertheless crucial to the group's growth and always had the best interests of the Chorale at heart. She loved the choir very much and was deeply devoted to it.
We are grateful to Billie Lear and mourn her loss. I know you join me in sending condolences and sympathy to her family and friends.
